The Royal Haynes home now and I am sad that I don't have
a 'then one.'  This is next door to the old school.

One of the fourth of July's which was directly behind
the school.  Boy, can I remember those bonfires!!! Railroad ties if I remember.
I even got to twirl a baton with a light in each end of it..  We decorated our doll carriages, bikes, wagons and whatever and had our own parade with them.

Boy Scout Troup  meeting in the Congregational Church in So Sudbury. This
had to be taken before April of 1949.  My brother Sonny is the scout in back to the
right of the candle being passed.  Freddy.. my other brother is to the right of the
person standing in front of the picture in the background.

I have the patrol flag and pole that belonged to Sonny.  The patrol pole was made by him and he had carved different symbols of the Boy Scouts on it along with an image of a whistle at the very top.  I will be brining it back with me when I attend my 50th year class reunion in October of 2003.  I have other articles and pictures that I will be giving to the Sudbury Historical Society.

One of the parades.  Dad is the Indian on the stage coach and I am
walking along side.

I don't have a picture of Anna Wahlrab, the postmistress, but here is her recipe for
Lemon Sponge Pie.

Here are the ladies from the Kaffe Stuga and I know that it had to be
before April of 1949.  I don't know where it was taken, sorry.

Mum, the second from the left, really loved the gang at the Kaffe Stuga.  I, to this day, have two of their copper individual serving coffee pots that they used, along with some of the Swedish Christmas decorations.  They are paper decorations of people cut out like paper dolls all attached together. I also have a pot scrubber made from broom like material and some paper napkins.  I had always hoped that she could have managed to be the owner of the beautiful uniform that they wore while they were working.

This is the original recipe for their Swedish
Meat Balls.  Talk about being nummy!

Well, this is all that I have at present.  As I find more, I will include them here.  I think it is wonderful that an old lady like me can conjure up such wonderful feelings about my childhood home.  Really tells you what kind of people lived there when I did.  I love all of them, always will, and always have.  Thank you for my wonderful memories.  Even all of  you kids I grew up with.
I know we have gained weight, lost hair, gotten gray and all that stuff that goes along with getting older, but thank goodness the only difference is the packaging and not the person.  Some of us just had to grow up a little for our full potential!  <smile>  See you all soon.  God willing.
